| Subject: [beautytips] Yellow-based foundations/MAC ravings | ||
| Hi all, Regarding the whole yellow-based foundation thing: I have been trying for years to find a foundation that actually matches my pale skin without making me look too pink. I tried Estee Lauder, and the only one that came even close was Double Wear in shade Bone. As for Clinique - as much as I love their Superfit Makeup, they don't have any shades that look right on me. I have been happy enough with Almay's Skin Stays Clean in Pale. But then, wonder of wonders, we got a MAC store here (I mentioned this a few weeks ago and got soem great product recommendations from everyone on this list - thanks, guys!). Since then, I have been able to find foundations that are not only pale enough, but also yellow enough. I have been wearing Studio Fix in NC20, and I have been so pleased to find that it looks natural, rather than like a pinkish mask. So my story has a happy ending. And, just to say something else ... I love MAC! I have spent a small fortune in the shop, and I am totally overwhelmed. Of all the things I've bought, these are my favourites: Studio Fix, Studio Finish concealer (finally ... a concealer that matches my foundation), Hyper Real Foundation in Green Fx (I have been using this over my moisturiser, on my cheeks and forehead, followed by a light dab of Studio Fix, and it looks so good), Blot Powder, Sheer Shimmer Powder in Trixie, Eyeshadows in Vex and Fiction (which look ultra-sexy on my green eyes - I use Vex on the lid, followed by a lining of Fiction along the lashes. It doesn't look overdone, but it really brings out my eyes), Lipstick in Pink Glaze. Oh no, all this makeup talk has brought out this incredible desire to rush off and spend some money again :-) Michaela | ||
